DIY wood flooring

The basic idea behind the packaged flooring that needs to be unwrapped after the room placement is this, wood will continue to want to breathe always. It's likely to expand and contract within the new environment, therefore it is a must to allow this procedure a few days prior to installing wood flooring.

Another very important phase of getting this correct, is to remove the base boards first. After establishing the starting point, leave a minimum 1/4" gap at the wall(s) that the base boards will eventually cover again. The material will then be able to move and acclimate to the ever changing room temp and moisture, as little as this may be, it affects the wood just enough for minor shifting and settling. Have fun every chance you get. Cheers!laminate flooring
