Oddly enough when moisture of any type gets to evaporate on any surface it will leave the particular aforementioned surface in worse shape as before this has happened. Now when it continues to happen over any length of time it will destroy the integrity of its
material matter to the point of repair, easy doing often times but prolonged periods means tear it out and replace. The currant job i'm on is in Laguna Beach,CA a quaint little coastal home with an awesome view of the ocean, lots of moisture in the air nitely,
the walk out redwood deck has a 6x12's post and beam substructure, all fine and great but
the misfortune of being assembled so as where it had been trapping water and drying on top of these timbers, with a 5.5 area on top and no way to find an out x's 20ft so you may get the big picture here [R&R] remove and replace, approx $5000.00 worth of r&r folks,
hey they got to enjoy the view from the deck for several years up to a few weeks ago til
someone heard a creek and decided to have a look, yeah no bueno, thankfully no casualties,
as i blog to inform the masses, while earning a living in this construction vocation i am perplexed to the hills of how common these types of problems exist, the masses just love to throw their hard earned cash away,no?How can you think otherwise?Over and over again,
lets just wait till you masses are ready for the reality of choice,we will get it right
if it takes long enough!! http://www.MY-DIY.net Lets try doing it right the first time

Save water,save us all?
This subject has been a battle for most,a fight to maintain the botanical beauty around our places without over doing it.States
counties and cities are all on alert with this resource, challenging us to conserve our usage or else.To use the broad term"We will charge the over-doers" in the sense that to be wise and from my perspective over watering is breaking down your homes.
My company Craig-r Construction has spent many weeks correcting these issues, not only saving this resource but saving my clients hundreds or dollars annually. We see the damage to fix,but more importantly, can most times adjust the sprinkler heads to the point of effect and aim, where as to get what needs watering wet enough without getting everything else wet that does not, therefor minimizing the damage and maximizing to green. All other areas that get wet weekly are breaking down from the get go and after a short while starting the due process of fix and repair, costing in some cases thousands of dollars.
Long story even longer, another simple approach of conserving both precious commodities,H2o & Greenbacks and in this instance both at the same time folks, imagine that! It's a fact, look while driving by so many homes and see all the water
running off into the street, even maybe check your own places more closely and anything that is not growing by nature if getting even a little moist ie. Stucco, driveways, fences, gates, doors, sheds, even those sturdy built blockwalls are causing one type or another future repair for somebody whom may even get paid to do it.We all have a choice here to participate in this, but in this so called economy who really wants to just throw away our hard earned cash at somethings that can be easily avoided?Im truely just grateful to be of help...................

Procedures to perfection
When we get an idea it starts as pure thought we visualize all the things, perts & components. We may even hire an architect for our project but any way you slice it,this thought turns to another thought then another and so on,we may even shop for products or items that may comprise as components for this idea, take a trip to our local HomeDepot or Lowes storesto find something to aid us.When push comes to shove its all about assembly or the particular way we put it together. Now my expertise is in this field im constantly finding way of improving these ways, always looking at why this or that did not last as long here but not there,so before i agree to change or fix the results ill find the why first then price the project accordinley. Many of these efforts could have been avoided long before i got the call. There is one awesome product that i came across because they got tired of paying the painter this stuff is made by Xypexand its proved to make things completely more pleasant for their eyes and their checking accounts, fairly easy tricks to complete your project to last.keep comin back folks itll be worth your time

Home repairs
To last in this industry is too have accomplished something for sure, its hard work, not that glamorous, dirty and more often than not you are out in the weather.Home repairs and maintenance is an aftermath of not building it correct in the start. There are many many o-so many different, sometimes simple small techniques when executing all phases of manufacturing what ever it is you may be creating, your kids playhouse all the way up to a complete room addition. My self taught approaches has been a product of need more so than want ,but my clients want to know their options. There's a very good source for a lot of this information http://www.my-diy.net, this can allow you to look @ things differently. So after years of seeing all these separate construction fouls causing unwarranted wear and tear,I've found products and ways of improving many areas of home building. From a Home Depot/Lowes or my local Ace hardware have all the basics, from some sort of fastener to many types of specialty items we need @ the coastal homes that i have worked on.Most of this damage is a procedure that could have been avoided all together.
When moving forward on your next project understand and realize that if exterior conditions either extreme or mild given any amount of time,as soon as they have been finished technically are starting to fail immediately, its interesting to note that i've first hand witnessed such ordeals exist, came back to look again just a few weeks later and pointed out the noticeable failures, much to the owners chagrin so long story short many people in these vocations are very good at producing and making things look nice, but are ignorant to the facts because they hav'nt done any service work, post completion of these building/rehabbing projects.
What then would most any of us consider to be are grandest assets? For sure it's our homes, all homes that we pay property taxes/mortgages/maintenance costs on no doubt is our largest expenses. So for all of you hard working folks out there if you could have someone plant a seed of knowledge for you, it could easily have saved substantial amounts of time headaches and money.Stay tuned for more in the near future...........

Lets us help
I have experienced many facets of the building world from a tiny patio cover fabrications out of high school,to huge seaside custom homes. In all areas of constructing we can find blatant mistakes or very poor craftsmanship, these my friends are the easy part of any project,i mean to say it's really easy to do a crappy job take the money & run.But my experience is when you know the real difference it's almost in many cases just as easy to do a sound thorough job,so why mess @ all with the first part.My plight out there is to bring this to fruition to the rest of you, giving back to the masses is what i do,it's important to me,let others get it.Call the painter every 7yrs instead of three, construct or repair so they continue to perform as if they were brand new.If things are assembled the correct way that wont have to be fixed, repainted or demoed down completely unless of coarse your ready to upgrade to something bigger & better,my-diy.net

doin it right the first time
Im completely blown away by this so called due process, ive been a remodel contractor for many years and found a niche of servicing the affluent, giant custom built dwellings on or over looking the pacific ocean,in So-cal to cut to the skinny,iv'e earned a decent living helping these clients alter/modify/add or just plain repair all kinds or types of projects, the odd commonality has been all the different existing problems i find while on these paths, the so-called skilled craftsmen building/charging and in my oppinion butchering these giant pieces of architectual art!!so i have set out to be of service. With the experience and techniques i've taught myself and others,to get it right the very first time,no need to bring the painter back all the time,no headaches extra toxins or plain old pollutants annually, save time and money to get it right the fist time!!!!!!!!!
